Australian Women in Global Business:
Motivations and Barriers to Internationalisation
A research project conducted by Ms. Sarah Gundlach & Dr. André Sammartino, Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Melbourne for Women in Global Business.
Women in Global Business (WIGB), a joint State, Territory and Australian Government initiative, has been supporting and building a network for Australia’s international businesswomen since December 2010. In 2012 we conducted our inaugural survey exploring the experiences of Australia’s businesswomen in the international arena. The survey revealed a highly diverse community of women working in, and often running, businesses in a wide range of locations. We gained invaluable insights into the motivations and opportunities prompting such internationalisation and the challenges involved.
The excitement generated by the resultant report - Australia's Underestimated Resource: Women Doing Business Globally - prompted WIGB to commit to conducting annual surveys through to 2016. Through these surveys we aim to boost awareness of the issues facing Australia's international businesswomen and their many successes.
We invite you to participate in the second annual survey by completing the following questionnaire which should take around 20 minutes to complete.
An automatic save function allows you to leave the survey and re-enter where you have left off by following the survey link provided. However, the survey must be accessed from the same browser and machine in order to retain previously completed data.
Your participation is voluntary and you are free to withdraw consent at any time and to withdraw any unprocessed data you have previously supplied. All data collected for this project will be kept securely at the University of Melbourne for at least five years, before being destroyed. We will protect the confidentiality of the data, subject to legal limitations. Only the aggregated data from these surveys will be reported in subsequent reports.
One lucky survey participant will win an elegant tailor-made Coral nightgown donated by Tatyana Ariyan Design (valued at approximately $650). To go into the draw please provide your contact details upon completion of the survey. In this instance, your contact details will not be linked to the data collected.
